Chicago, IL – August 24, 2009 – Seventy-three percent of people had confidence in Barack Obama's ability to bring about significant economic progress shortly after Obama took office, according to an online poll conducted by HR Solutions. Despite how confident these people have remained in the almost seven months since then, new leadership combined with economic hardships have left no one without questions regarding our future. One of the most notable questions at this time includes health care reform, a topic within which any new implementations would undoubtedly affect employee benefits. HR Solutions' recent research reveals the status of employees' benefits satisfaction in various major industries, highlighting the education industry as a leader in this category.
According to HR Solutions' National Normative Education Database, 74 percent of faculty/staff members in the education industry respond favorably toward the "Benefits Satisfaction" survey dimension. The preceding statistic illustrates the education industry's increased satisfaction toward benefits as compared to the National All-Industry Norm, which shows survey respondents answering 62 percent favorably toward "Benefits Satisfaction." The 12 percentage point difference between the education industry and the norm sets faculty/staff members at educational institutions well above several other industries in terms of the "Benefits Satisfaction" dimension.
Seventy-two percent of employees from various industries answer favorably to the survey item: "My supervisor keeps me informed about matters affecting me." Regardless of how our questions on the future will eventually be answered, as benefits - or any workplace policies - become altered through Obama's new implementations, employers must work to maintain extensive communication.
