MBWA Best Practices
To improve the perception that management does not care about employees, Senior Management needs to be more visible to all employees on a day-to-day basis. As a method to enhance visibility, upper management, directors, and supervisors should commit to Management By Walking Around (MBWA). MBWA is a business concept introduced in 1982 by Tom Peters which has been used successfully at many organizations to increase management’s awareness of operational problems and, at the same time, improve employee relations.
