HR Solutions' first annual Employee Engagement Emporium event was a huge success! On January 20th, HR professionals from all over the country met in downtown Chicago to stay up-to-date on the latest Engagement trends and share best practices. Presentation themes included a wide variety of pertinent talent management topics.

Brad Karsh, CEO of JB Training Solutions, had attendees in stitches during his lively presentation Dude, What's my Job? Managing Millennials. Attendees were a great mix of Baby Boomers, Generation X and Millennials, allowing everyone to get a kick out of the idiosyncrasies of each generation. Participants learned how to better relate to colleagues of different age groups, and how to communicate more effectively in a multi-generational workplace.

Much of the day's conversation focused on employee recognition, which was agreed by all speakers to be the number one driver of Employee Engagement. Attendees shared their views on the new norm of recognizing employees as often as multiple times a day. Some attendees wondered if the meaning of recognition could become diluted due to the heightened frequency, but many people agreed that recognition would never be diluted as long as it is genuine.

"As an employer I found the Employee Engagement Emporium Event gave me a much better understanding of a topic that should be very important to us all (as employers)," said Nick Brander, President of Anzco Foods North America, Inc. "The content and quality of presenters was first-class and gave an excellent perspective on the key motivations of individuals from different demographics and generations and understanding their complexities. The impact of Social Networking on employers was also very insightful."

After a full day of great information and delicious food, participants enjoyed an hour of networking and complimentary cocktails. The Hotel Palomar Chicago provided a beautiful space to relax and engage with industry peers. Many people commented on how much they enjoyed the presentation material and the event overall.

Considering the success of the Employee Engagement Emporium Event, expect more events to come from HR Solutions.
