Responsibilities:
The PR/Communications Specialist would develop and produce publications, brochures, and news releases to define the corporate identity to employees, customers, and the broader community. The PR/Communications Specialist would assist with the execution and coordination of various marketing programs including corporate communication, collateral development, PR, speaking engagements, etc. Working with the marketing team this person will implement marketing programs which increase sales of HR Solutions products and services and the visibility and awareness of the company's brand. The individual would also organize and carry out events to promote employee morale and community goodwill. This position reports to the Director of Marketing and Sales Services.
The primary duties of this role include, but are not limited to the following:
PR/Communications
- Develop regular press releases to gain press exposure for HR Solutions
- Submit regular pitches to HR and National publications
- Market any press exposure to prospective and existing clients
- Leverage pre-established press contacts to maintain press exposure
- Build/Maintain/Update press contacts
- Aid in HR Solutions' Social Media Strategy (LinkedIn, Twitter)
- Communicate HR Solutions' volunteer and community initiatives
Collateral Development:
- Support the development of new marketing material e.g., direct mail, sales brochures, newsletters, client case studies, sales scripts, web content, articles, etc.
- Assist with design, copy and promotion of marketing material in line with HR Solutions' brand guidelines
- Work directly with Director of Marketing and Sales Services and IT to develop, maintain and utilize internal and external database resources
Trade Show/Speaking Engagements/Special Event Coordination:
- Evaluate trade shows, speaking opportunities, sponsorships
- Coordination of materials needed for events
- Assist with the preparation of presentations for various engagements including sales presentations, speaking engagements, trade shows, conferences, workshops, etc.
Additional duties handled by the team:
Request for proposals (RFP)
- Write and proof RFP responses
- Interface with Project Managers, Sales, IT and Sales Services and other cross-functional disciplines to ensure RFPs are tailored to meet client needs
- Write tailored proposals when required
- Write marketing letters (pitch letters, direct mail materials)
Sales Support/Presentations:
- Create and proof all sales presentations in PowerPoint
- Assist with the development and coordination of sales campaigns
- Create lead generating communications
- Assist with follow-up activities as directed e.g., thank you letters, congratulatory letters, sending of collateral, description of HR Solutions products and services
Alliance Marketing:
- Expand the reach of HR Solutions' brand through existing affiliates
- Proactively research and develop new marketing ideas to maximize the revenue potential and marketing effectiveness of our affiliates through joint marketing activities
- Explore and evaluate new affiliate partners and provide business case for their addition to the HR Solutions portfolio
- Other duties as assigned by Director of Marketing and Sales Services

Computer Skills/Requirements:
- MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Education/Experience:
- Bachelors Degree required. Emphasis in marketing, communications or other related field preferred.
- 1-3 years experience in a PR/Communications role desirable.
- Writing samples will be requested prior to interview.
- Limited travel may be required.
